Hi,
First time posting here, I am in the process of renewing my J1 visa back in my home country.
I received my original J1 visa two years back and have been a medical resident since then, unfortunately on renewal couple of days back I was given the "sorry this will require further administrative processing", so currently stuck...
I have in fact gone through the administrative processing wait once before when I was applying for the visa to do an internship few years ago (prior to my J1 application) and at that time it took 5-6 months, which obviously I can not afford now as my residency will be put on-hold at my hospital...
So my question would be: is there any evidence, anecdotal or other, that the second time into administrative processing takes less than the first-time, especially that since that first time I have established myself in the states with a bank account, least, steady paycheck from the residency or does that make no difference in the expectancy of the wait?
Thanks for any support,
S
