  • I-751 Application After Divorce from Abusive Husband- Please help!

Hi all, I could really use some tips and advice,
My divorce will be finalised late April, and my Conditional GC isn't up for renewal until November I believe. I asked my husband for a divorce as he was a drug user, he was abusive, he refused to change, and refused to go to therapy. I have built a life for myself here in the US now and I do not want to leave, so I will be filing my I-751 with the Joint Waiver. We had a very real relationship and marriage, and I can prove this with affidavit letters from friends, family, and my therapist. I have a few letter and bills and photographs that I will use also. Unfortunately I did not thoroughly document his abuse, but I have a few texts and one photo of a me with a black eye.

    Any advice or tips?

Proceed with your application. Respond to any evidence requests. Show up at your interview.

Very few of the I-751 waiver requests result in denial if you do the above.

I have the same situation here ! My wife is also drug addict and she was arrested twice time by city police .she is spending too much my money on it . I got my GC 4 months ago.
I am wondering should I need to divorce right now ? Or Should I have to wait for green card renewal ??

I appreciate your Feedback if some had same situation before !
