Getting Married on Tourist Visa, then applying for K3 months later?

I am planning on marrying my Fiance (Denmark resident) in August, and since we do not know if we want to live in America or Denmark yet (He has an application for schooling right now out) We have no visa applications pending.

My question is, if we get married in the US in August, will this affect our abilities to visit one another on tourism visas until November, when we decide where to move.

Also, is there any legal issues that we should be worried about getting married in August?

I don't think you can marry on a tourist visa in the States.

You better find out first. As for tourist visa, if you already have those I believe you can visit, however; getting a permanent visa to the U.S. you have to be able to show you can support your spouse and while doing the paperwork they need to be outside the country while the process is going on.

Visitors can marry on a tourist visa; it's perfectly legal.

What's important is to return home at the end of the authorized stay following the wedding.. and begin the spousal visa petition as Consular Processing (CP). You can visit on a tourist visa or VWP after the wedding as well, but should be honest about USC spouse.. if asked.. by CBP officers at the airport. If you have a history of short visits, you're likely to be let in, but there's always a slim chance of being sent back from the airport if the officer suspects you're coming to stay for good.

PS: The illegality refers to entering the US with pre-conceived intent to marry on a tourist visa and not returning home.
