  • F1 Visa Extension

    Hi!

I have gradiated in December 2008 and currently working on OPT. My stamped F1 visa has expired. I want to visit my home country (India). Can I go to India and come back to USA on expired F1 visa? If not, how can I renew my F1 Visa?

Currently I am not enrolled in any course and not planning to do so just for the sake of renewing F1 visa.

    Please help!

    Thanks!

Don't quote me on this but I think you can get another F1 stamp if you are employed under OPT and can produce a letter from your employer to that effect.

Please make sure. You should call USCIS or the state department or even just talk to someone in the international office at your university.

In principle you can get an F1 visa, but since you have to prove non-immigrant intent, it is risky.
This is my opinion and not legal advice.

        Hi,

I have graduated in dec 2008 , however left my OPT(not using) and taken up second masters and in between I have not been to India since Jan 2007. If I go for visa extension now...will it be a problem because I'm planning to graduate in May(2010).
