  • Indian Visa more than 180 days stay

    Hello,

My son is a US citizen by birth and is 10years old. He got an Indian visa for 5 years. He is staying with us in India and exceeds 180 days of stay limit. He is registered himself in police station when he came to India. Is their any problem for him to go out of the country and re-enter again? Can he apply for a PIO card in US staying in India?

    Looking forward for an solution.

    Regards,
    Amitansu

Is it a Tourist visa or an Entry visa? If Tourist, he does have the limit of 180 days per visit, and the 'two-monehts between visits' rule would apply. If an Entry visa, the 180 day limit and the two-month rule do not apply. Registration would have no effect on the visa in any case, as children under 16 are not required to register.

Regarding applying for PIO in US while staying in India, unlikely.
