Damaged passport

I have a PP issued in 2004. Due to wear and tear, the 1st laminated page bears a small discolored patch and the lamination on the last page at one corner started to peel off putting that section with some discoloration.

Will it be considered as a damaged PP for US B1 Visas ? What extent of damages are acceptable by the consular (as we PP is subject to wear and tear)

There is no such exact measure on the wear and tear to be predictable. It all depends on the VO. It is advisable to get a new passport before attending the visa interview because damaged passport may delay your visa stamping.
