Travisa vs Normal processing speed for OCI

Hi,

We are planning to apply for family based OCI . I reside in SFO and the consulste now requires us to apply thru travisa. Just wanted to know from everyones experience if the Normal processing takes more time or the Travisa (online one) ?

Actually we are scheduled for travel to India in the very end of May this year. So that gives us roughly 2-and-a-half months to mail and then recive back our passports(main) + OCI and stuff. So debating weather to go for OCI or visa. Dont want to waste money for visa since will be applying for OCI anyway but still cant take chances. please advice!!

Does the passport also get mailed back from India at the same time as OCI or is that earlier?

As Travisa just started processing for San Francisco on Mar 8, I don't think anyone has received their OCI through them yet. Therefore, it is too early to say how long it will take.

However, they are claimining around 30 days processing time.
