h1b visa appointment

i have applied for h1b 2013 .My application is inial review status.i have a HDFC recipt for h1b visa apoinment.I want to block an appoinment in auguest 1st week bcz i got a mail from USCIS that they received my application on may 2nd so i hope my application will aprove at that time(if not i will cancel appoinment).can i book the slot now?

1. They only open appointment slots for about 3 weeks in advance.
2. You should not book an appointment until you have the approval notice in hand, these things can take time and you will have to cancel and reschedule if it does not arrive in time.
