Default How to count H1b 6 years

    Hi,

    Please guide

I got my I797 approved in july 2008 and was approved till Oct 2011.
My company decided not to send me at that time. I got the opportunity in july 2011.But my petition was about to expire so my employer filed for extension and i got my extension till Dec 2013.
I got my first H1B visa stamped from Aug 2011 to Dec 2013. I came to US in Aug 2011.
Now i want to know if i want extension will they count my time from 2008 to 2013 or the time i just spend here in US i.e from Aug 2011

Only the time spend in U.S in H1B + L1 status combined will be counted towards the 6 year period. You can keep filing extension until you reach the 6 year limit.
