Default wife pregnant in the us. new visa. Dr us don't want her to flight

    Hi,
I'm currently under a j1 visa. We are living in the us. I just got a new visa E2 that I need to look for on an US ambassy in Europe. My wife is pregnant and under J2 visa (dependant). Her American doctor (obg) told her to not fly up to the end of the pregnancy.
How can we do for her to get her visa? Can she get it in the us?
    Thanks for your help!

What , if for some reason you do not get the E2 visa and cannot reenter?

It is not a good idea to leave your wife alone in at this stage.
Can't you delay your E2 till after the childbirth?

If you can reenter on E2 , she can get a status change. The problem is if
you enter on an E2, her J2 status will cease immediately and then she will be out of
status. Talk to a good immigration attorney.

    Default b2?

    Thanks Peace999,

I still have my J1 visa up to october. I'm going to Europe to convert it as a E2 (hopefully)
So she still have the J2 visa, and if my visa is refused I will still have my J1 visa. So I can come back to the US.

In case I get my new visa E2, can she convert her visa in the US or do she need to live the US?

The E2 visa is sponsored by another company, they want me to start ASAP. So I cannot wait to convert into a E2.

    thanks for your advise
