Default fingerprinting notice received but spouse is currently in India

    Hi

Our GC processing is underway (in eb1 category) and I received notice for fingerprinting. However, My wife has travelled to India to attend a wedding. Is it ok if I attend the fingerprinting alone and postpone my wife's appointment? is that advisable? are there any consequences? please let me know. Thanks.

    Default Avoid any delays

So you both have FINGER PRINT appointments? You should be able to reschedule. Follow the instructions on the notice for rescheduling. I CANT stress enough when going through immigration process like this you never make plans to be gone for long periods of time. Immigration process should be a priority. I feel that some immigration case workers or officers look for these delays to gauge the seriousness of an applicant and may hold it against you. AVOID DELAYS and RESCHEDULING APPOINTMENTS at all cost! The only exception I would make to leave the country would be for a death in the family. Nothing else is worth the freedom of living in the U.S. legally.
