I am currently on L1 A Visa valid till April 2013 and my Indian passport is valid till April 2014. Can I apply for Indian Passport renewal within US (without going back to India)? Also How soon can i apply for it given its expiring in about 2 years from now. thanks!

Can be done in US 1 year before the expiration. Read the appropriate instructions her.

one more complication..Since I can only renew my passport at 1 year before expiration. My current VISA is till April 2013 and passport till April 2014. Now if I can only get my passport renewed post April 2013, by the time I go for my VISA renewal my passport will be valid for 1 year only. So any idea on how my VISA will be granted? thanks
