Default 2013 DV winner with Tax concerns

Hi there, I have been reading comments and suggestions on this forum for weeks and since my case has not been debated, I want to throw it hoping that someone may help.

I won the 2013 lottery with a case number that will be likely scheduled for interview between january and february 2013. The thing is I lived in US for a year on a J1 visa between 2005-2006. Whie there my sponsor IIE filled tax return on our behalf (all the scholarship recipients). I got a paper attesting that but don't know where I put it. We were also provided with a social security number (SSN).

When I lived US, I got hired as a consultant in my home country by a company based in New York. I was not officially an employee of that company. I was paid after completion of the job through bank deposit. I completed the duty between 2006-2009.

So, as a DV winner do I have to submit tax return documents to the embassy for 2006 until 2009? As I own a SSN, is it a requirement for me to fill tax return every year even if I am not a US resident?

Is there someone out there to help?

    Thank you in advance.

You don't have to file tax return if you are not resident (from IRS point of view). In your case you were not resident in 2006-2009 so nothing to worry about.

Thank you Billvor for your reply. I hope to hear from other forumers who have any idea about my case.
