    Default Message for Sonia Dhingra

    Dear Ms. Dhingra,

The exclusion in visitors insurance plans is for pre-existing conditions and not only for any pre-known conditions. Therefore, even if you didn't know about it, the condition can still be pre-existing condition.

You didn't buy the insurance for your mother as soon as she arrived. You bought the insurance around two weeks after her arrival and went to the doctor on the same day you bought the insurance for heart condition. Please try to understand that kind of heart conditions she had do not occur overnight. Heart artery blockage does not happen in few hours that you had the insurance.

You very well know that you chose not to buy the insurance until your mother started having problems.

We have already spent a lot of time explaining to you justifying your claim decision. We would like to reiterate to you again that we at Insubuy work for you and not for any particular insurance company and we have been providing the correct and practical advice in good faith. Several people at HCCMIS have also tried to explain you about the same. However, you choose not to accept it.

In fact, HCCMIS has been more than generous in processing your claim. Even though your mother's condition was clearly pre-existing based on medical records, to give you any benefit of doubt, they have paid $15,000 under acute onset of pre-existing conditions. Most other visitors insurance companies do not even provide any coverage for any pre-existing conditions. And even in this situation, you were not eligible under acute onset of pre-existing condition, but still HCCMIS considered that and paid that. Obviously, you have received what you are not even entitled for. You should really be thankful that you bought the insurance from such generous company. You were already informed of this by HCC's claims dept about one week ago before you started posting on the internet. (Note to other readers: Please do not automatically assume that insurance company will always pay your claim even if it is ineligible.)

We have sent you several emails and also left you few voicemails in case you would like to discuss this matter any further.

However, rather than responding to us, you have started making inaccurate postings all over the internet alleging the insurance company of unfair denial of claim and calling their insurance the scam. If you continue to do so, you may be liable for damages due to libel and defamation and you will be completely responsible for it.

Therefore, if you would like to discuss this any further or would like clarify this matter, please call us or call HCCMIS.

Meanwhile, you can also look at our FAQ at http://www.insubuy.com/guide/faq/pre...-insurance.jsp to understand more about pre-existing conditions.
    Thanks & Regards

Upon looking further, it seems that you purchased the same Atlas America insurance for your father in April 2005. That time also you made claims on the same day of the effective date of the policy and the claims were declined due to pre-existing conditions. (At that time, coverage for acute onset of pre-existing conditions didn't exist for non-U.S. citizens visiting the U.S.) We found about this from publicly posted information on the internet.

At that time also you were quite dissatisfied with your claim situation and you alledged insurance company of fraud and suggsted that people should not buy it.

If you were so dissatisfied with it the first time, we are not sure why you chose to buy the same insurance again and attempted to make the claim again on the same day of the effective date for something that wouldn't happen all of sudden.

We clearly see here the pattern that you have been attempting multiple times to make claim on the same day of the policy effective date for the chronic conditions that take a long time to develop.

Please note that no insurance company can afford to pay for your expenses when you are already sick. Insurance is for future and unforeseen problems that occur after the effective date of the policy, that are not pre-existing conditions. I would hope that you would set your expectations right about the insurance.
    Thanks & Regards

Looking at these posts, it seems that, from her past experience in 2005, Sonia knew very well that Atlas America is the only plan that becomes effective on the same day of purchase (All other plans become effective earliest on the next day).

Therefore, Sonia purposefully decided not to buy the insurance she needed to use the insurance. She bought the insurance after when she felt the need to go to the Dr or hospital and then inapprorpiately blaming the insurance company of scam. However, it seems that it is her who is trying to scam the insurance company.

Soniaji, please remember "You can't start diging a well when you are thirsty".
