Default Two Indians getting marriaed in USA

For two indians getting marriaged in USA how do they obtain marriage certificate from the Indian Embassy? What documents does the Embassy need? Do both of them have to be present at the Embassy? Do the marriage have to take place in the states covered by that Embassy?

You don't need a marriage certificate from Indian embassy. All you need is a marriage license from the local county office. There will be waiting periods in some states after which you can get married in from of a judge or justice of peace or in a religious place from whatever faith you belong to.

Don't we need to get the marriage solemnized according to Foreign Marriage Act?
We'll definitely get a marriage license from the marriage register's office in USA. But would that be valid everywhere unless it is solemnized by Indian embassy?
