    Unhappy Deficiency Notice from IRS

    Hi

Currently I'm in India since 10 months. I filled my tax return file for 2010 year ( 1st Jan 2010 - 31st Dec 2010). I got refund amount $3504, But this month I got letter from IRS ( Notice of Deficiency) that I need to pay ($1515 + $303) to IRS. SO Could you please let me know the process from india ? Shall I need to hire Advocate or Tax Consultant ?
Please suggest me name of that ( Either India or USA)

    Thanks
    Anil Patel

You probably claimed too much in refund. You can hire a tax agent in US that can review your previous filing and determine what you really owe or choose to send IRS the check plus interest.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.http://www.immihelp.com/visas/h1b/h1-visa-faq.html
