Hello,
My H1 will be expiring soon but I have never travelled to US before. Can I file for H1 extension from India sothat whenever I get a project I can travel. or Should it be new H1 filing?

You can file the extension from outside U.S. Extension can be filed even after the petition expiry date. File it only when you have a job waiting for you in U.S. No point in filing it and then waiting for the project to start.
