Question name change in birth certificate

    To whom it may concern,
    Dear Sir/Madam
Thanks for your helpful information in your website. I am a US citizen born in NYC. I have dual citizenship, all my study documents bank accounts and legal documents are in my second name. Even in my passport it mentioned that I am also known as my second name. I want to change my name in my birth certificate. Because I want to stick with one name to be consistent in all my further documents Im goin to apply in US. Can you please let me know what documents I need to do so. I am currently studying in CANADA I want to also know where can I apply for that. I appreciate it if you can assist me in this process.

    Regards,
    Hanieh

You can't really change the name in your birth certificate. That was your name when you were born.

Whatever is your name now is the change from your name at birth. Therefore, you need the proof of name change from birth name to current name.
