Question Questions for OCI application for wife and kids

    Hi,

We are getting ready to apply for the OCI card for my wife and 2 kids. I am still a Indian Citizen (GC holder) and am not applying for OCI. Question:

When filling out the OCI Part A form online for family, I understand we would enter my wife's details under the "First Applicant Information" section and the details for our kids in the Minor 1 and Minor 2 sections. As I am an Indian Citizen and not applying for an OCI, do I need to enter my information under the "Spouse Information" or is this section filled out ONLY if both parents are applying for OCI?

    Thanks,
    -Topper

No, you are not an applicant and therefore, you should not enter your details in applicants.

Immihelp - Thanks for the information.
    Would appreciate an additional clarification:
My understanding per going through the OCI requirements (for Adult) on Travisa's website was that my wife and each of the kids would have their own part A of the OCI form while form B would be common for everyone. Additionally for the supporting documents, we would submit one "common" copy of each of the documents listed for everyone.
Also, the instructions that print with part B mention that we need to submit two copies of the entire application package (i.e. part A's, part B and supporting documents).

However, when I talked to a Travisa consultant, I was told that:
    a) We need to submit a separate copy of supporting documents for each of the applicants (not just one "common" copy). So, for example, my wife would have one copy of proof of address and each of the kids will have their own copy of proof of address document.
    b) We were told that the instructions that print with the part B have not been updated in a while and we only need to submit one copy of the entire application package as well as only one photograph.

In other words, the application package would include:
    a) Separate part A forms for my wife and each of the kids
    b) Common part B for everyone
    c) Separate set of supporting documents for each of the applicants, wife and each of the kids (even if it means submitting multiple copies of the same supporting document like "proof of address")

Would appreciate clarification and input on this, especially if someone has submitted family based OCI application recently.

    Thanks,
    -Topper
