    Default H1B transfer when H1B amendment in-progress

    Hi,
I have H1B valid till Dec 2013. Got moved recently from west coast to east coast. My current employer has filed H1B amendment due to both location and client change which is in "initial review" stage. Now I want to move to a new employer (basically H1B transfer).

    Can I do a H1B transfer when H1B amendment is in-progress?
Is it advisable. If not, what are the other alternatives?

    Thanks in advance.

Yes, you can do that as long as the I-94 remains valid. No issues. If your I-94 has expired, then it is not advisable. In that case, search and read about 'bridging'.
