    Default Unutilized L1A visa

I'm holding valid L1A visa for client ABC petition. However due to budget issues the project got cancelled and I have not yet travelled on existing L1A. My L1A still holds valid. Can I travel for client XYZ with my current L1A?
My company is saying you cannot travel for client XYZ with the current visa. Either you need to travel at least once for client ABC or need to file fresh L1A petition for client XYZ.

    Is it an immigration rule?
    Pls guide.

This might be an internal policy laid down by your company, it is definitely not a USCIS rule. In fact the petition always says "Proposed" nature of employment. As long as you are traveling to do a Managerial job it is within the law.

    Thanks for the reply.
Yes I'm the victim of this company rule.
Now I'm applying again for fresh petition with client XYZ.
Not sure whether this will create any impact/advantage/disadvantage during interview at consulate.

Yes my visa is stamped with previous client's petition.
But I'm applying for fresh L1 petition.
Once it is approved I will appear for interview with new approved petition.
I believe VO will cancel my previous L1 irrespective of approving or rejecting new petition L1 visa

Yes most likely they will cancel the previous petition. But if you have a visa stamped attending the interview again makes no sense at all especially in L1A...and it is exposing you to the risk of stamping. But if that is the rule guess nothing you can do; though the bottomline is it is not an issue and you wont be questioned/stopped at the POE

Yesterday I appeared for visa appointment with new petition but my visa got refused.
However they have not cancelled my existing L1A visa.

Just wanted to check whether I can travel using my existing L1A visa once requirement come up in future?
