Enter US with expired Green Card - but started renewal process

I filled the renewal process online a couple of weeks ago, but need to travel abroad for business. When I return in 3 weeks the card will be expired.
Is there any document I can get to prove my status and that I applied for renewal, so that I dont have troubles entering the country?

You can use the receipt for your GC renewal as proof of your LPR status. You can also make an Infopass appointment and see if they will stamp your passport.
