Is EB 2 an option with 15 years of education

Hello,
I have researched like a possessed man on this subject, but there is no clear distinction on whether I qualify for an Eb2 or an Eb3.

1)My job requires an Eb2 qualification (masters).
2)I have a 15 year education from India (Bachelors in Computer Applications).
3)I have a 2 years distance education (PGDIT from Symbiosis).
4)I have over 8 years of genuine software programming experience.
5)The organization who filed my H1 had done my education evaluation done and the eval cert says my education combined with my some of my experience is equivalent to a US BS degree.

When I pushed the immigration team in my current organization for an Eb2 an attorney was supposedly roped in and even he was of the opinion that I qualify only for Eb3. And that the education evaluation was helpful only when filing for an H1B.
Can someone please let me know what I really qualify for ? I do have plans to consult some other attorney and figure this out, but I thought I will ask here first. I was even told that it is not a guarantee that if you are filing under Eb3, that you will have to wait for 10 or 12 years, in many cases, depending on the case, people who filed under the Eb3 category in 2008 have received their GCs.Its all situational, I am told. Somehow I don't believe that. Any advices for me please ?

As far as I know you qualify only for EB3. One needs at least 16 Years of continuous education to be eligible for EB2. You might qualify if you complete your Master's in US. This is my opinion not legal advice.
