Bio metric signature question

Guys

I need to ask you question my relative applied for reentry permit and waiting for Bio metric signature and they have returning flight in the next week. They already informed that thier appliation received and now in the process but if they don't receive by thie week or in next week Is it possible if they can postpone thier biometric signature untill next year Is that any procees need to do in order to extend bio metric signature? Please let me know
