H1B application - "immigration petition on your behalf" question

Hi,

I've a question about H1B application.

I'm trying to renew my H1B visa with the same employer and hence filling out the application for the same.

I see a question - 'Has an immigration petition been filed on your behalf?"
If we answer "Yes" to this question, does it affect the chances of getting the visa approved?

Has anybody else been in this situation before.
Please help.

First of all, answer honestly to whatever questions that is asked in DS160. Any false information will lead to permanant ban from entering U.S. H1B is a dual intent visa. So there is no harm in answering yes to this question. It can impact only for F1 or B1/B2 stamping.
