I am concerned and do not know what to do. I have my family based green card interview in September 2012. So I decided to read to find out the format and what to expect.
My wife and I married 8 years ago. We met at work we both were waiters. Because of little money we had a court house ceremony. We continued to lived and work together until I decided to go back home to Germany. So we were separated but still remained legally married. We did not visit nor communicated with each other during our separation. While i'm back in Germany I went to school and just graduated August 2012.
Now i'm back in the States and I'm staying with my co-sponsor because I can't live with my wife because she also was unemployed (until recently) and living with her sister. So we are living in two different states until I can get a job and save up money to find my own place.
I read on this website that they find it usually my circumstances and therefore it is likely we might have a fraud interview. They also look at background and religion afflication to determine if the marriage is legitimate. So because my wife is African American and I am German it considered suspicious? Could any please shed any light on what I should do? Should we get an attorney? Can we cancel the application process until our living arrangements can change?
I was already stressed and nervous about the normal interview but now my anxiety level just went out the roof.
Any info would be helpful.
