Default Live in The US and Work in Canada for Green Card

    Good Afternoon,

I had a question regarding my wife’s status. She is a green card holder since 2009 through my job-based application. We are eligible to ask for citizenship as of April 2014.

She has been offered work in Vancouver, Canada. We are looking at the possibility of moving to Blaine, Washington, and then have her commute across the border for work.

Is this in contradiction to the Green Card requirements? Our home base would remain in the U.S. but she would have a daily commute across the border.

I just want to make sure that we are not jeopardizing our status.

    Thank you.

    That is no problem.

There is no requirement that green card holder must work in the US.
