Hi
Could someone confirm whether the I-94 is not taken when entering Canada from USA?
Do they take it if someone is flying into Canada from USA?
Thanks.

They will most likely ask you whether you are returning to the US, and if you say you are, they will leave the I94 with you. If not, and if you have a multiple entry visa for the US, you'll be issues a new I94 when you return. So, if you're trying to extend your stay, it will be impossible, or difficult.
Thanks
I do not want my I-94 taken at all and I am not trying anything fancy
Thanks to all the UNITED South Asian people - all the fancy strategies get leaked to homeland security
I know, I'm not saying you're trying something funny. Many people cross the border to try to renew their visa, and in many countries, it's legal and possible. Unfortunately, unless you stay in Canada for some time, I doubt you'll be given an extended 90 or 180 days in the US. You can TRY to give Canadian customs your I94.
Or I can help them strip and evaluate all the ips here to help punish people who have committed or attempted fraud to enter USA?
Maybe in return they will reward me with $35?
I feel lucky to be south asian.
