schengen visa duration

Hi All,
I am currently working in the UK and occasionally visit my ant and uncle in Germany and Netherland.
Everytime I have to apply for visa , pay the fee , gather loads of docs and etc. after all this i am granted a 3 month visa with 30 day of stay duration.

this is ok but it is a hassle, is there a way to apply for a visa which is valid for 1 or 2 years so i don't have to keep applying again.
My uncle or ant can send me an invitation

Schengen visa rules are really annoying and difficult to work around. As far as I know, they don't have long-validity multiple entry visit visas. They often do this for business visas, though. You ought to contact a friendly Schengen consulate (by friendly, I mean Scandinavian, Dutch, etc., and not French, Spanish, Italian) and ask.
