I started working on in 2000 on OPT and was laid off after 2 months. I was interviewing and got several offers but I started working only after 75 to 87 days (not sure about the exact date) and have been with the same company since then. I got my GC and now I am about to apply for citizenship. Could you please tell me if I was out of status during unemployment? Should I have informed INS about the change of jobs (I don't know what the rule was then)? Will the immigration officer go over these details during the background questions? Will I be denied because of this? Will GC still be valid?
