Missed STEM extension application deadline

Hello,

I am currently working on OPT, which is expiring today 5th Oct and have applied for STEM Extension today itself. I have a few questions

1) What are the chances of my STEM application getting rejected? Has anybody faced the same issue?
2) Can I work during this period?
3) If rejected, what are my options?


Guys, I would really appreciate if you could help me out.

It is possible that it will get denied. Did you paper file the application? It is better to efile it. I would advise efiling it immediately (even if duplicate) so that the receipt date will fall before current OPT expiry. Paper filed applications will have a much later receipt date.
