Meaning of stars on Visa

Interesting....Looking back at my parents B1/B2 visas, I see one star in my Dad's and two stars in my Moms visa (and no annotations either). You seem to be very observant

I am taking a guess here by saying that it perhaps could be a security feature of some sort...

Being an immigration attorney, I keep watching when all applicants visas are stamped...its indication of female with 2 stars(asterix mark). and one star for male applicants....but very recently I too found for an male applicant have got 2 stars.!! thtz a real surpise....may be internal records they have changed. not only that whie biometrics is done inside the consulate there is also another observation.....which shows approval and denial, thatz really amazing to know...
