  • Traveling to India from USA via London

All - Do I or my dependent(on H4) need a transit visa(Direct airside transit visa) if I have a valid H1B? Per UK Border Security website I am exempt from DATV transit visa only if I have a "1) a valid entry visa for Australia, Canada, New Zealand or the USA, and a valid airline ticket for travel via the UK, as part of a journey to or from one of those countries.

Though I should be good, but wanted to confirm whether my understanding was correct.

    Appreciate your help.

    Thanks
    Sam

I am having the same scenario. I have my family travelling from US to India via Heathrow Airport. They have Valid H4 Visa, which is expiring on Jan 20th. They will be returning in Feb 2014, after re-stamping H4 Visa in India.

So the Transit Visa exemption clauses:

      1) a valid entry visa for Australia, Canada, New Zealand or the USA - Visa is valid while travel / transit at UK Airport
      2) a valid airline ticket for travel via the UK, as part of a journey to or from one of those countries. - Valid Ticket from US to India (To and Fro)

Does this mean, no transit visa is required?

      Please reply.
