  • US born baby for indian parents

    Hi all,

I see this is a very common question but answers vary.If some one are with same experience please share your ideas, suggestions.
We are expecting new family mem in feb 2014. We are kind of confused what to do as we will be leaving US after baby birth.
1.My thoughts til now:to apply for US birth certificate and Indian passport. So i dont need any visa or PIO card.
2.We dont know when we will come back to US.May be or May not be.So which passport is better for my baby?
3.People say that to apply for indian passport and go back to india now.Later when you decide to come to US,apply for US passport by surrendering your indian passport and thus dont need visa to come to US.is that correct?Any my child will be treated as US Citizen.
4.Will US Govt raise any issue if we take our US born baby to india with Indian passport?
5.We stay in Dallas,Tx.any idea of how long it will take to get Birth certificate and indian passport?

Any other advice's or any. Please share your thoughts.

    thanks
