i have no green card

i came to the United States in 1965 at age 10. My step father was in the U.S. Army and married my mother which is a german citizen. We all took on my his last name and i always assumed that I was adopted. I graduated in 1974 at an army base high school . i got married in 1976 to a native tennessean and have been married for almost 30 yrs, have 2 children and 2 great grandchildren, My step father died a few years ago and i found out that I was not adopted and am not american citizen. I now want to become one and would like to know the best procedure..I have live in Tennessee for 35 yrs now

After you get your greencard, wait for 5 years. Then you can apply for citizenship. Look at http://www.immihelp.com/citizenship/
