Hi All,
I was on a J1 visa and I got a waiver through the delta regional authority as I am a physician serving in a health service shortage area, so I have an H1B visa now for 3 years (starting 11/2013). I am applying to green card through my employer but I understand this is a lengthy process. In the meantime, I got married last month to a US citizen. I wanted to know if applying also through my wife ( in addition to the application from my employer), may make the process less lengthy with less requirements, as now I have to stay in the shortage area for more than 3 years to finish my waiver and then another year to get the green card. If so, what steps should I take to get the green card through my wife?
Thank you for your time and help
