Hi all,
My wife is currently going to school on H4 visa. She wants to start on her internship this summer. For this purpose, we would like to get her F1 visa stamped by going to India. However, I am not sure if one can enter as a full time student for the summer semester. Any thoughts or comments are welcome.

If the school offers courses for summer then yes she can enroll from summer semester and subsequently get the F1 visa stamp. The I20 should say summer 2014 and anticipated length of course.
Full time for summer as a grad is 6 Cr Hr
For fall and spring they are 9

Sorry your case is unique as for internship you need CPT. If she would continue her education in fall then probably the visa officer could give her the visa.
Once she gets the f1 visa she has to apply for CPT which again takes time to process. Hope you have enough time, provided she gets her F1
You always run the risk of visa being denied. Then it may jeopardize the H4 also. So please be aware.
