F1 visa port of entry

Regarding port of entry



Hello All,



I have few concerns on the port of entry.



I got admitted into Lawrence Technological University , Michigan.



As per my Travel plan , I am to travel from India to San Jose, California to my relatives' place and from there I would be travelling to Michigan later.



Would I be allowed to enter United States directly through San Jose or should I first enter Michigan ?





Please kindly help me with my concern as early as possible
