Hi all. For those of you who have immigrated to the US, how long did it take you to get your SSC? We were told it takes up to 6 months. We're going on 2 months right now. Thank you

If you entered on an immigrant visa, and your DS-260 was completed correctly, the SSN should arrive about 30 days after your arrival. If it has now been up to 2 months, you should go to an SSA office and check status or apply directly.

Anyone who tells you that it normally takes 6 months is talking about an anecdotal, unusual SSN issuance delay.

Yikes! We'll head to a SSA office next week. Thanks very much for your help.
