Extend OPT due to baby birth

Hello,

I'm in F1-OPT working in a US Company, but my OPT expires on August 31st. However my wife is pregnant and she is going to have the baby in August 15th, and the baby's doctor recommend that we don't travel with the baby until he has at least 2 months. Can I require any type of work permit extension because of that?

No. Not if you get another visa approved by August 31. You will be out of status which could possibly hurt your future chances here.
