Urgent - Interview dates not available in Chennai

We want to sponsor my in-laws to come for a visit in March 2006, but presently the vfs website is only showing dates available in May at the Chennai embassy.
My inlaws are from Bangalore - can they apply for dates in other consulates like Delhi or is it no longer allowed? Also can we try to reschedule to a new date without cancelling existing appointment?

Any quick help would be greatly appreciated.

Applicants can go only to the Consulates of their jurisdiction territory. If they attend any other location other than their local office, they will be asked to go back and apply in the local office.

Rescheduling is not allowed when one appointment is active. You have to cancel it and can reschedule for another date. But you can still use your HDFC number one year from the date of issue for rescheduled appt.
