Can I apply Re-entry permit before arriving to the US?

Hi, I'm currently in the Philippines right now and on a valid reentry permit which would expire on May 2015. I'm still finishing my college studies here and would go to the US this December to avoid any conflicts for my PR status. I would like to spend my Christmas vacation in the US and return back to the Philippines as soon as January because classes would start right away.


My question is, knowing that I have only about 2-3 weeks of my stay in the US, would there be any problem for such a short stay with regards to my status?

And also, I wish to re-apply for a new re-entry permit and can I have my parents file it before I arrive there so by the time I arrive, I'll just be waiting for the biometrics? Hopefully would notify me within my stay of 2-3weeks?


I'm afraid that if I apply for the re-entry permit when I arrive, I wouldn't have enough time to wait for the biometrics.

As long as you have valid reentry permit, you can reenter.

You must be physically in the US when apply for reentry permit.
