Question H1B refused under 221(g) additional info requested

I appeared for interview on Jan 19th.
    H1B & H4 visa rejected under 221(g).
    Interview was at 9.00 am,

1st Question: Is your Daughter a US citizen?
Answer: Yes Sir. (we both were suprised to hear the question as we did not mentioned anywhere on the forms)

We were in US for almost 3 and half years and our daughter was born in US. We came back to India almost 3 years back and now re-applying for US visa with the same employer, but presently working with some other MNC. The only thing has changed recently is my Employer got merged with a bigger Employer but i am having the same old Employer documents which does not make much difference as i have a letter from the new present employer that there won't be any change in the status of employees.

VO asked about my previous projects worked while I was in US and the projects which I am working with my present employer in India. Then took all my degree certificates and experience certificates. Came back and asked to wait for the second interview, We waited for 5 hours, then they called us,
after some questions about my previous project and experiences, VO asked for project details.
I told him whatever my employer had told me. Then he asked for something in written. When I told I don't have anything in written. He pulledout 221(g) form and asked me to get the following documents:

    1. Complete itinerary of services or engagements specifing the dates of each service or engagement, the names and addresses of agent, the names and addresses of the actual employers, and the names and addresses of the establishment, venues, or locations where the services will be performed.

    2. Copy of contract with XYZ client. (Hand written by the VO on the 221(g) form)

My employer had given information about XYZ client and now when the US consulate have requested a contract and information about the client, my employer has told me that the project is over and he cannot provide the contract/agreement.

I have to re-appear at consulate with the above 2 documents in person. I am not able to understand what will happen if I take some other client information.
IF somebody has faced similar kind of situation please reply. Awaiting for suggestions or advise.

    Thanks
    Satish

Thumbs up Got Visa Stamped after 221(g)

Thanks a lot to immihelp for providing this forum from which I got a lot of help and valuable information for preparing for the interview

I got my visa stamped in my 2nd attempt. I received all the documents as per the query from my employer. I took them and arranged in the format suggested by my employer.

My suggestion is to present the documents in the proper sequence.

If any questions, I am ready to help, I will be checking this forum almost everyday. I will reply back as early as possible.

    Thanks

    Default hi sir

My name is shekar. I was asked to get the project details and a letter stating that I was employed by them.

Basically, I finished my M.Sc from Uk and attended H1B interview at london and I was asked to attend in chennai. So I came back and attended at chennai. She asked me questions like my consultant details, client details, project details and asked me to get a letter from client stating that they have the project mentioned in the letter to the consular and the client as employed me.
But,when I spoke to my consultant they are saying that they can't get a letter from the client since the project was scheduled for oct -2005 start.Could you please, help me with your advice what should be done and if I can attend the interview again with the same documents .Please, could you mention the sequence of the documents for submitting it to the consular.

    Thank you in advance,

    Hi

For past 3.5 years i worked at one location (B'lore) and now on job purpose i moved to another location. In new location (Mumbai) i am working for past 4 months. Can i book a slot for VISA interview in embassy which is near to this new location(Mumbai) and at the time of interview i will 6 month old to this new location(Mumbai).

I am skeptical about on the day of VISA interview in Mumbai do the embassy people ask me to go Chennai. In that case do i need to book a fresh slot for chennai or embassy people in Mumbai gives me a date in Chennai.

Please help in this Issue ASAP.

    Many Thanks in advance

    Hi Vinod,
I apologize for the delay in reply, as I was on vacation.
You try to book a slot in Mumbai and if they direct you to Chennai, you will not have to book a slot but they will give you 221(g) form where you can attend chennai consulate anytime during Tues, wednesday and Thursday.

If you luck favours and if you have all the documents in properly arranged, you can get your visa in first attempt in Mumbai.

Generally, I heard from people that if you passport is from southern states, you need to book appointment in Chennai and also because if you have done your studies in Southern states, they will have to check the educational background.
But I have also heard that if you are having some residence proof of mumbai then you can book an appointment in Mumbai

    Best of luck,
    Satish

    Hi Arun,

Did you miss the interview scheduled in London? And did you scheduled a new interview appointment in Chennai? - I don't think it will be a problem, but you should have cancelled the previous appointment.

what do you mean by "with my H1 B Processed docs addressed to london consulate"?
Yeah, if you employer has addressed the letter to London consulate, ask him to change the letter to chennai consulate.
