Hi,
My parents visa got rejected this month at chennai consulate after asking only 2 questions (how many children? where r they?- answer)both in US).They did not ask for any of the docs. The purpose of the trip we mentioned in the visa application is "visit daughter and tourism". However, i have my 1-1/2 year kid with my parents and i want them to bring my son over to US as i cannot go this year.
We are planning to reapply, however, this time can we mention the purpose of the trip as "to leave my grandson in US with his parents". Could this be a strong point for them to issue the visa? We are not sure is we can give this reason or not.
Has anybody had the same situation and was issued a visa.

Tourist visa is for "tourism". Therefore, mention only that.

Hi!
Don't think thats a good reason to apply for visa. You could mention tourism itself.
