Hi folks,
I am currently applying for a Masters program in the states and if accepted my program will begin in August/Sept 2015. I am currently in my sixth year of H1B visa so by the time I quit company I will have 4-5 months left on my H1B visa plus 3-4 months of recap time.
My question is - After I graduate from my program and start my OPT can my employer start my PERM process on OPT? Assuming my employer is willing to start my PERM 6 months into my OPT I will have about a year to get to my I140, how does that work out?
Also, my company is starting the PERM process this year so it will probably be March 2015 before they can start the PERM process after the ads and stuff and if my PERM takes 8-10 months to get approved then I cant leave the country or start my masters in the meantime. Moreover, if my I140 does get approved how can I do my masters?
Any advise on this would be appreciated!
