Apply for EAD - L2 visa type

Hello,

I hold a L2 visa and my husband holds L1A visa. I would like to apply for EAD, but my visa will expire on 05 March, 2015. We would be applying for an extension soon.

Question:

I if get approved for an EAD, will that expire with my L2 visa expiry date? If yes, should I be required to reapply for a EAD renewal once my L2 extension is approved? What would be the best time to apply for a EAD?

I know the expected time of an EAD approval is around 1 to 3 months. Would it make sense for me to apply now? or should I wait till my L2 extension?

Please advice.
It would be really helpful, if any of you could shed some lights on this.

Assuming yours and your spouse's I-94 is expiring on 05-March-2015, if you apply EAD now you would most likely be granted only till that date. So advisable to file L1 and L2 extension request as well as EAD all together this way if extension is granted you would get EAD till extended date.
