Hi! Does anybody knows how I 485 works?i know that,that is for adjusting status in US to PR but im confuse in from what status u are adjusting.ls it like when u r waiting ir paper approved bu uscis or should you wait for ur paper to be current?

The I-485 is used to apply for Permanent Resident status after or while a legal basis has been established or in process. If an I-130 has been approved, or is attached, and the relationship is "immediate priority," i.e., spouse or child under 21 of U.S. citizen, the I-485 can be submitted and completion is usually in about 6 months.
