Hi guys
I am graduating this december 2014. I am completing my MS in 1.5 years. Currently I am doing an internship at a start up company. What would be the best time to apply for OPT ?
my program completion date is 06/14/2015, but I finished my program earlier, and my F1- visa is valid until 2018
I am still not about my start date, as I am awaiting confirmation from my employer where I am interning at.
Also, I had a few doubts.
1.) can we work more than 40 hours during OPT, and also do multiple jobs? If so, should all jobs be related to my field of study ?
2.) The deadline to apply for OPT is 60 days from the day school semester ends. Is that right ?
3.) Can I travel to India on my F1 visa and return back to USA, before I apply for OPT ?
4.) How long does it usually take to get an EAD card under OPT ?
5.) Once I get OPT, is it compulsory to be employed for 1st 3 months ?
6.) on my OPT, can I travel to India and return to USA within the first 3 months of my employment, having a letter of employment from my startup company (at a startup company)? Also, can i travel to India anytime during my OPT for any duration of time ?
