waiting period to get plastic GC

Hi,
After CP I landed in chicago got I-551 stamped on my passport and it is been 45 days since I landed. I want to know how long i need to wait to get the actual card - plasic green card. My address has been changed and I have sent a ar-11 form to notify the change of address. How do I trace my status, when i goto BCIS site it is asking for 13 digit receipt number, in CP, I only have MDR number or the alien number. Please help. Thanks in advance

This is unpredictable. Some people get it in les than 1 month, some people wait 1 year.
You can't really trace your GC if you did CP. As you noticed, the tracking requires the 13-digit BCIS number. In theory, it is possible to call BCIS during office hours and get the 13-digit number that corresponds to the A#. Besides the fact that it is very hard to get through during business hours, they usually say that they can't find the A# in their system. So you would waste hours and wouldn't get any results.
It is the best to simply relax and enjoy the new life as a PR. The card will show up eventually.

I totally agree with Joef. Just relax and wait for your plastic card. I got my card in about 4 months. I completed my cp in 2001. Try your luck calling the BCIS. Anyway good luck and enjoy.
