    Hello, Saichowdari.

People do apply for COS from B1/B2 to F1 after entering USA but this path is fraught with risks. You have to be careful with dates, if you apply to soon after entering USA - it may be seen as a pre-meditated move. If you take too long, your B2 I-94 might expire. Also, the purpose of visit you mention at the POE (Port of Entry) will be holiday / tourism which will be in contravention when you file for a COS. People do get approval on a COS from B2 to F1 (not trying to discourage you) but you have to be careful.

Best practice is to enter USA with the right visa. This is from my personal experience.

I am not sure about getting F1 from Canada. Sorry about that.

    Wishing you luck.

    All the best.

    Cheers,

These are my personal thoughts. I am not a professional.

    Wishing you luck.
